For 22 kW three-phase installations, the local distribution network operator (DNO) typically requires an application before the installation proceeds. This is to ensure the local grid can support the additional load.
The approval process involves notifying the DNO of the proposed installation, providing charger specifications and, in some cases, agreeing to smart-charging requirements that allow the network to manage load during peak periods.
